Alan May holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Alabama. While studying at UA, he taught classes in English and creative writing, was a Ruth King Larcom Scholar, and he served as Poetry Editor of the Black Warrior Review. May’s poems have appeared in The Laurel Review, Interim, Hotel Amerika, Willow Springs, Diagram, Yemassee, and others. His most recent books are Dead Letters (BlazeVOX, 2008) and More Unknowns (Dead Academics, 2014). He has taught at the University of Alabama, the University of Montevallo, and the University of Tennessee. Currently, he works as a librarian in Knoxville, TN.
